Setup Guide for Standard Edition
Welcome to Link2Calendar Standard Edition! This setup guide will guide you through the minimal steps necessary in order to configure the product for the first time. You can also access this setup guide anytime from Link2Calendar Help menu.
This setup guide applies to Link2Calendar Standard Edition. If you are using Team Edition, please refer to this guide instead.
Preliminary Setup: Act! Web API Settings
Before we start, please make sure that you have already configured Act! Web API connection settings. It can be found under Act! Web API Settings main menu.
Preliminary Setup: General Account Settings
Additionally, please review your account settings in Settings > Workspace Settings menu and make sure that you have selected a correct Time Zone.
1. Setup Work Days and Hours
Under Link2Calendar → My Availability menu, configure your work days and hours, along with blacklist entries to block certain day or time period like daily lunches, holidays, etc.
2. Configure Your Personal Calendar
Under Link2Calendar → Personal Calendar menu, change the Status option to Enabled, then fill in some details regarding your calendar as you see fit. You can change the settings any time.
3. Setup Meeting Duration and Appointment Details
Still within Link2Calendar → Personal Calendar menu, go to Appointment tab and configure how you would slice your day into time slots, how long a meeting will take, what activity type you'd like to offer people to book with you (e.g. call, meeting etc.) and which fields do you require from the attendee to fill in when making a booking.
For example, if you configure a 30 minute time slot, your contacts will be able to book a time at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, and so on, according to your previously configured availability. A meeting can be configured to take one slot in duration (30 mins) or multiple slots in sequence.
You can change the settings or blacklist lunchtime or vacations at any time later.
4. Preview and Share URL
On top of this Personal Calendar, you can find Your Calendar URL which you could share with others. You can also preview how your public calendar looks like by pressing the [Preview] link on the right hand of the settings page.
That's it! Customers can then click your URL and be presented with all the times you're available on any given day of the week. When they select one, they only have to enter some basic information, and that appointment is instantly set in your Act! calendar. It's that easy.
Please consult the Help menu anytime to bring up contextual help article for the page you are on. We hope you enjoy using Link2Calendar.
