Main Menu

The Main Link2Projects Menu is designed to allow you to quickly create or manage projects and templates. This menu is available to project planners and other Act! users in the Team Edition. External contacts working from Act! Contact share links do not have access to it. I consists of the following:

  • Home - Clicking Home button allows you to switch between program-wide Main Menu and Project-specific Menus used while working in individual projects.
  • Overview is the only part of Main Menu which appears in Project-specific Menus as well. This is because in the top left corner it has a dropdown which allows you to move between individual projects or select All Projects view. Overview is a dashboard which lets you visualize the status of your project(s) quickly. The elements of the Dashboard are determined by the type of Overview you select. Project Planners and other Act! users in Team Edition can switch between different Overview types by using the dropdown in the top right corner.
  • Create Project (available only to Project Planners with a Link2Project subscription) - starts project creation wizard
  • My Projects - leads to the listing of all existing projects. Project listing gives you access to quick information about projects such as Status and Number of Tasks but also allows you to open up Project Editor and edit project settings (such as Task Hours Estimating, New comment notifications, Task completed notifications), or create templates from existing projects.
  • My Templates - includes reusable system project templates, as well as custom templates created from existing projects. Custom templates can be synced with the original project, edited, and deleted as needed. Custom Templates can be created by clicking Save as a Template in My Projects listing, or in the project Overview
  • Preferences are program-wide defaults for Opportunity, Sync, and Look and Feel settings. It is recommended to set up program-wide preferences for the speed of use. You can adjust these preferences to individual project's requirements while you are running Create Project Wizard
  • Import from PKS - allows you to import .prx files of projects from Project KickStart, or from Webplanner.
  • My Workspace Assignees is a tab in Team Edition. It allows you to delete Act! users with assignments. This action will remove their assignments in projects, and remove and disable share links they were using to access projects.
